How you can help
Volunteers play a central role in powering a pop-up pantry and it’s a great way to help in our community. There are several volunteer positions available:
Drivers
Drivers are in charge of picking up the food from our different donors and sponsors and bringing donations to our pop-up locations. Pickups are generally done early in the morning the same day the pop-up is being set up.
Site Managers
Site Managers are in charge of supervising the development of the pop-up pantry from arranging the tables and supervising the layout of the food to keeping the order in the line and keeping track of how many people are being served. Site Managers are also in charge of rationing the food based on the amount of donations and the amount of people waiting to be helped.
Site Manager Assistants (Setting up the Pantry)
After the drivers arrive with the donations, the Site Assistants are in charge of laying out the food in the tables in an efficient and orderly way that simplifies the collection process from the people. When the pop-up is over, they are also in charge of collecting the garbage and boxes and making sure the site is left as it was previously.
Social Media Managers
Social Media Managers post information on social media about the dates, hours and locations of the pop-ups so the community is informed.
